Today marks the first day of the brutal British ice cold weather. Ok, that’s a slight exaggeration there but I’ve felt the drop in temperature walking out my home this morning. With the weather being so unpredictable I decided to show you 3 coats to wear from River Island this autumn.
I picked only three jackets on this occasion, as these I’ve been reaching for them the most.
The Leather Jacket
The leather jacket doesn’t need any introduction, and it’s the most common outerwear piece that most of us own. When I bought my first leather jacket, I knew nothing about the material, hardware, texture. Looking back, why was my leather jacket so shiny? It’s funny how that’s now the trend, so I’ve kept it, but a new one was in desperate need. I bought this River Island leather jacket which is a steal. It’s not shiny (thank God), has gold hardware, and the leather is quite hard so it will soften and age beautifully over time.
The Suede Jacket
The suede jacket has been everywhere this year and thought this would be a great opportunity to get this in a different colour. I’ve bought this burgundy colour (because I can’t stop wearing it) but I’ve seen them in grey, tan, pink, cobalt blue, yellow to name a few. The suede texture comes alive in different colours rather than the usual black in my opinion. For those that have asked me on snapchat my bag is from ASOS and my shoes are from Kate Spade via Nordstrom.
The Faux Fur Belted Leather Jacket
The faux fur belted leather jacket is a twist on the usual leather jacket! It’s slightly longer and can be belted to give you gorgeous shape. It also has a detachable fur collar, great for extra warmth and cosiness. I love that it has quilting on the sleeves and the back as it adds character. I’ve got it in black, but this cream coloured option is everything!
