I’ve battled with hyper-pigmentation for what seems to be a life time. If your new here, here are a list of things I’ve tried in the past. Whilst my hyper-pigmentation has reduced significantly over the years, it hasn’t completely disappeared unfortunately. I think another set of treatments are needed but in the mean time I’ve been using these products that target hyper-pigmentation and have helped massively in reducing it.
Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream have relieved me from my panda eye days for a few years now. This has been my go to eye cream, and works like a dream. I like this eye cream because I’ve actually seen a difference – it’s refreshing and super-light, yet with a sensation that it’s working deep down to stop dark circles and fine lines, and crows feet from clawing their way out to the surface! This contains Caudalie’s three signature patents: Resveratrol to lift and firm, Viniferine to correct dark spots and brighten, and anti-oxidant rich grape-seed Polyphenols.
Skinceuticals CE Ferulic is an antioxidant serum with a blend of vitamin C, vitamin E, and ferulic acid and the best defense against premature aging, loss of elasticity, and hyperpigmentation skin. It is the combination of powerful antioxidants which help to repair and prevents wrinkles, sun damage, and fades dark pigmentation from both internal and external aggressors. Skinceuticals CE Ferulic contains 15% of Vitamin C and Ferulic acid.
Another serum that is a staple in my morning skincare routine is Skinceuticals Hydrating B5, now I’ve been switching between Skinceuticals and Medik8 Hydrating B5 but I seem to prefer Skinceuticals.
The main ingredient in hydration serums are hyaluronic acid the body’s natural hydrator to bind moisture to the skin. Enriched with vitamin B5, known to help with tissue repair, Hydrating B5 Gel replenishes nutrients the skin needs to feel smooth and appear younger. Hydrating B5 Gel is recommended for use with vitamin C treatments as it will help maximise the benefits of your daily moisturiser that goes over the top of the serums.
My lips are super dehydrated, so Vaseline and Carmex do nothing for me. It was only last year that a restorative lip product hit the market. No surprises who it’s from right? Skinceuticals!! The Skinceuticals AOX (Antioxidant) Lip Complex restores moisture to hydrate and soften the feel of dry lips . The antioxidant packed lip treatment with the key actives being two powerful antioxidants alongside hyaluronic acid and vitamin E. This means that it’s a highly hydrating product that’ll keep your lips looking and feeling nourished, whilst the antioxidants will get to work on preventing environmental damage.
