I’ve got a serious confession. I’ve been using a post surgery foundation for the best part of 6 months. Now before anyone jumps in to ask if I have had any work done. The answer is no. Every part of my body is mine, real, and a blessing from the man upstairs.
The foundation in question here is the Oxygentix Oxygenating Foundation. It’s is a post surgery foundation and it’s remarkable; quite frankly a Godsend!
Advanced Skincare properties
What drew my attention to Oxygentix Foundation was the fact that it is known as breathable as it increases the oxygen intake in the skin whilst promoting a healing process following many procedures. Sign me up, please. I’m sold! It can be used on any type of treatment from as mild as a glycolic peel or microdermabrasion to something as advanced as a nose job, or a facelift. If you not one to go anywhere near treatments because your skin is sensitive or suffer from acne, rosacea, psoriasis, or eczema, it’s sensitive enough to not make it worse and also there’s an acne control version specifically for acne sufferers.
Oxygentix Foundation boasts that it can speed up the connective tissue reconstruction, and build collagen layers that will reinforce your skin’s natural healing process. So in it can lessen the recovery time, reduce scars all under a high coverage foundation. Here’s where it get interesting. After 90 mins after applying, it is completely water resistant. I took the foundation for a spin and went swimming in it. Believe it for not, the foundation didn’t even budge. Not one bit.
Now the shades. The foundation is split up into two types of undertones. Blue and yellow based undertones. Upon trying this foundation. I was slightly annoyed by the fact that the yellow based foundations didn’t get darker. I have dark skin but I’m more on the yellow side. The foundation shades alone aren’t the greatest for darker skin however if you are one to highlight and contour then you’ll be fine. I went in with a lighter concealer under my eyes to bring the yellow back to my skin, and it was fine..
The above photos are the shades in which the foundation is available in, but I’d suggest getting a sample to match your skin tone first as it’s a little pricey for the guesswork.
In the above photo, I have my bare skin on the left side of my face and Oxygentix foundation in Mahogany on the right. Can you see how the foundation is a little too cool for my skin and hides the yellow undertone?
In the above photo, I’m wearing Ebony on the right and Mahogany on the left. Ebony makes my skin a little ashy but again with the right concealer it’s undetectable. I used Mahogany more that I did Ebony, as it was a better fit for me.
I also have the foundation in coco but it wasn’t worth even trying it on my face. It’s suited to someone who is a lot fairer than I am, perhaps even mixed race, so I gave it to a friend. Look at the image below.
I have to be honest with you on the next one, I’m not sure if it transfers resistant, as I forgot to put this aspect to the test. When you try it, let me know if I can tick this one off.
It gets better! For those of you shielding from the sun rays, it contains SPF 25 and its cruelty-free and vegan-friendly.
What also peaked my interest, was the effectiveness of the coverage. The coverage of the Oxygentics foundation is phenomenal. When I read more about the benefits, I just couldn’t image something that sounds more like a skincare product, can be great a foundation could even cover a pimple let alone my hyperpigmentation on my chin.
Now the next benefit, you can sleep in it. Now I have tried it, and when I wake up it’s as if I just put the foundation on. It also allows anything you put over to stay put. I didn’t feel too bad I must admit, but I’m the kind of person that wakes up in the middle of the night to remove makeup if I’ve been too lazy to take it off.
This Oxygentix foundation review has been a joy to write about, but a pain to find in darker shades to recommend a from trustworthy online retailers. I’m sure you can understand why I’ve been keeping it a secret now right?
