As I’ve said in my recent weekly post, I learnt so much in 2014. I intend to continue having a positive mind set and being open to new and unexpected experiences. In order for this to happen, it’s really important we collectively support each other.
It’s time we embraced our differences. Forget assimilation: being different makes the difference. We spend so much time aspiring to other things and people when we should really be celebrating what we already have. If we all spent more time reflecting and developing our own identities, the world would be a better place for it.
I know it’s easier said than done (isn’t everything?!) but I think we should all try and acknowledge our worth and individuality. That’s not to say you can’t appreciate other people, it’s more about learning how to appreciate other people and yourself equally.
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in what we don’t have, (been there, done that, own the whole T-shirt collection) but we need to remind ourselves of what we’ve already achieved.
If you feel like you haven’t, then it’s time to do something about it. That’s not meant to sound harsh, but it’s true. If you don’t do it now, then when will you?
Just a thought.
