I have a confession: as much as I love sunshine, I’m kind of happy it’s getting colder. Here’s why: the trench coat. One of the perks of autumn is the excuse it gives you to experiment with layering, especially outwear. In this season, the trench coat is queen.
I’ve always been a dedicated fan of trenches, and the colder weather reminds me just how much a trench can make a difference to your winter wardrobe.
In addition to looking impressive, a trench coat is multifunctional providing the perfect amount of insulation to keep those autumn chills away whilst being lightweight. The assortment of colours available to experiment with is worth taking advantage of. If there were one thing I’d advise everyone to invest in (especially if you live in a cooler climate) would have to be a trench. Not only is it practical, it’s sure to flatter almost every figure.
I’ve been wearing a midnight blue trench with patent black buttons from Banana Republic. It compliments my skin tone and accentuates my figure with its smart tailoring. I wear mine on special occasions as its almost metallic blue, but I do have a few others in more muted colours to show you.
I need to show you the camel trench I got from ASOS recently –its muted caramel colour really compliments my outfits whilst providing coverage from the cold.
I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but I building a little trench collection and these are the ones that I’m currently eyeing up.
What’s your favorite trench and why?
