Liz Earle has been busy mixing up some fragrance oils for a fragrance: Botanical Essence No. 1. The fragrance is 98% natural and there’s also an Instant Boost Skin Tonic available.
Oils used for this fragrance are (in the order of appearance on the ingredient list) bergamot fruit oil, lemon peel oil, cedarwood oil, mandarin orange oil, orange peel oil, cardamom seed oil, geranium oil, rosa damascena absolute, lavender oil, coriander seed oil, nutmeg kernel oil, vetivert root oil, tonka bean absolute, and patchouli leaf oil.
I would describe the scent as an unusual blend of citrus woody extracts. Overall I think this scent has an uplifting feel to it.
This perfume opens heavily with a hit of bright citrus which can be overpowering so be sure not to spray it amongst your friends unless your trying to kill them.
However, once the perfume settles, it broadens, The citrus scent is still smellable (if that’s a word) but there’s an undertone of lavender.
It’s not a favourite of mine, but I have to say I find that I’m spraying my room with this more than on me. It’s very peaceful and relaxing! If this was a candle, I’m sure you’d have no problems sleeping.
I’ll be honest it doesn’t last all day, but I’m guessing because of its “au naturale” ingredients list. However it gets 10 out of 10 for innovative packaging!!
Liz Earle Botanical Essence No. 1 is available in Eau de Parfum, 50ml, £39.50.
