Whether you’re visiting London for the first time or like myself want to short city getaway from the stress of hosting Christmas this year. Sneaking off to a cosy and calm environment, even if for a few hours can help you rest and recuperate. One of my personal favorite ways to relax is to book a night or two in a hotel and have all my requests to be handled my someone else.
Here is is list of 4 hotels in London for under £150 a night, so you know it won’t break the bank.
Tucked neatly away from the hustle of bustle of Chelsea stands the newly refurbished hotel. With only 0.4 miles from Battersea Park tube station, this modern hotel in Chelsea Wharf is also less than 2 miles from Buckingham Palace and 3 miles from the British Museum.
This hotel holds a dear place in my heart as it’s a place that Michael and I stayed at, which you can read here. The modern rooms come with complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and iPod docks to blast your music. It also has a small minibar and tea and coffee making area. The suites offer a separate lounge, are, and not to mention a concierge lounge with free breakfast and snacks.
One of the reasons I love this place is the hotel’s spa, indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Other amenities include a Portuguese restaurant, a lobby bar and a gym, plus a business centre and meeting space.
Although the Ibis Hotel is known for being budget-friendly. Ibis London Blackfriars has modern inviting rooms with beds of comfort. It’s located in Central London next to Southwark and Blackfriars underground stations. With 24/7 reception service to handle your needs whatever the time, and the free wifi throughout your stay. The best thing is that breakfast available 4 am to 12 noon, so no need to rush out of bed between the 6am-10am windows that other hotels offer.

Bermondsey is known for its antique market, so when the newly refurbished trendy boutique Hotel in Bermondsey Square invited me to stay for a night. I still need to share with you, my experience. It’s only a stone throw away from both the Tower of London and the landmark Borough Market.
I’ll save my experience for another post, however, the contemporary rooms and suites feature iMac TVs, free WiFi, air-conditioning, and bathrooms with drench showers. Surprisingly it’s dog-friendly hotel as it features beds, bowls and treats for your furry friend. A few of the rooms offer a view of London’s iconic building, The Shard. The loft suites add terraces offer stunning city panoramas, which I started out of for hours. The star of the show is that one of the suites has an 8-person outdoor hot tub.
When the weather is warmer dining here is lovely as the bar/grill specialises in a Modern British-inspired menu, and there’s a rooftop bar too.

Located in a 19th-century art deco building next to Paddington Station, this traditional English luxe hotel is a stone throw away from Buckingham Palace.
The staff here are super friendly! The mini bar is packed with hard to resist goodies as well as alcohol. I’ve been lucky enough to have stayed here which you can read about here. If you upgraded your room to a suite, they feature a separate living area and terrace, plus access to a lounge with free WiFi, breakfast and evening appetizers. It also features a gymnasium for the fitness enthusiasts.
