I went to a press event a few weeks back, and was introduced to the New CID i-polish Light up Nail Polish.

They come in 24 different colours and are a little on the pricey side. They all have a light on the top of them too, not sure what for exactly though! But they are an added touch to make them different. Whoops I stand corrected, the light is to help better apply your nails in poor light situations, ;)

All the shades are name after dessert treats! You get fat just looking at them!

SOAP AND GLORY COSMETICS REVIEW

 As many of you know Soap and Glory launched a makeup range, as was luckily sent away with a few goodies, which I will review. As the lipglosses and hand cream are are not new, I shall not be reviewing them, however if you'd like a review then just let me know, and I will!

Lid stuff - Off the Wallflowers

I'm actually a nude sort of girl, but as there is a palette of colours in this world, I decided to go for this one! The palette is packaged quite simply, and I love the fact is has a clear lid so you can see the colours, without opening it!

The colour payoff isn't the greatest in my skin tone, so if you want something pigmented this isn't it, BUT...what I do like palette is that its really the colours are subtle. I like to call these palettes the "safe for work palettes" as they can give you just a wash of colour on your lids without being overbearing!

There are a mixture of mattes and shimmers too, but the matte colours do not show up very well on my skintone so do wear a primer if you have dark eyes.

Thick and Fast Mascara

Sadly I'm not a fan on this mascara, to be honest I don't think its not made for my lashes. My lashes are tiny and extra curly, so excess kept going on my eye lids, leaving little black dots no matter how careful I was. I'm, the kinda girl who will wiggle my mascara on my lashes till kingdom come, but couldn't with this. I find that its a bit gunky and gloopy, when you take the wand out of the tube,but I guess you can always remove the excess product. If you have straight lashes, or long lashes, then perhaps it can work for you!

Super-colour Fabulipstick 

Mary Poppins anyone? I thought the name sounded very similar to "supercalifragilistic". I love the name of it! Very Soap and Glory-esque. Any who on to the review. The lipstick is very very sheer, as in I had to load of about 4 layers for the colour to show up, and still it was sheer. It's your perfect daytime lipstick, and I really actually like the colour of it! Its not super creamy so do moisturize your lips before wearing it. To try and get more colour payoff do try to either conceal your lips, wear a lipliner close to this colour of the lipstick and fill in your lips, or if you like the sheer-ness of it (if thats a word) then wear a skin tone lipliner like I have done in the pic below.

Overall Impressions

I actual like the range, if your a beginner in makeup and experimenting with colour, or if your heavy handed with pigmented eye shadows the palettes are great, or very subtle for work too. I think they should have a mascara with a smaller wand. Pretty impressed by the lipstick as not ashy even on my skin tone. So all round you cant go wrong with Soap and Glory cosmetics as its affordable too.

VASELINE AND CREME BRULEE...YUM

Normally you wont pair the two together, however Vaseline had been hush hush about their latest Limited Edition project. However now they've revealed it as Creme Brulee, which I'm thrilled about as I love Creme Brulee,  so now I have a lip moisturizer that I can eat too! Just perfection if I do not say so myself!

Vaseline Creme Brûlée flavour launched exclusively at Selfridges two days ago, it sold out yesterday and 300 were sold within the shop being open!

Would you have guessed this Limited Edition scent was on the Vaseline Pipeline?

CARMINE BEAUTY BOX - OCTOBER REVIEW

These beauty boxes have taken over the beauty community by storm *queue lightening*! Now I haven't tried any of them as I kind of wanted to sit back and really analyse the best one for me, if any at all!

The box is really big, not too sure why, but it is! Considering the size of the box I'd expect more products *greed* however 5 is what everyone else is doing. 

The packaging! Although the colour scheme is a bit off, green and red?? I like the fact its not the ususal pink and black though 

Three full size products? Thats superb!

Trind Nail Repair Natural: Cant say I'm familiar with this one, perhaps because its a Dutch brand. I cant seem to put it down as my nails can sometimes be as stressed as me, and get weak and break. Lets just say since using them my nails haven't been weak.


TheBalm Fratboy Blush: Loving this smooth peachy pinkish blush, its matte and powdery texture and it's very pigmented and doesn't look ashy on my skin either, which I am surprised about considering I never wear this sort of pink. Oh and the packaging...ADORE!

Balance Me Super Moisturising Hand Cream: Never tried anything from Balance Me before so it was great for me to try it, as a lover of all things natural with this 30ml sample size. The 100ml full-sized version retails for £14.50, I didnt like the cream very much as I found it quite heavy but it did absorb quickly into my skin though without the sticky greasy feel. I adore the scent, but its not for everyone as my sister said it smells like something for old people, maybe its the Rosehip and Lavender.


Caudalie Quenching Sorbet-Crème: I've recently started using the Caudalie Premier Cru LA Creme Yeux (eye cream) and the  Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee. I was very keen to try this out :) I'm used to heavy moisturizers, however this is quite light, and softly scented, oh and not forgetting the fact that its for dry skin too. WIN


Daniel Sandler Eye Delight in Peach: From looking at the colour its a loose eye shadow with pink with speckles of shimmer, but on me its looks white/silvery but its easy to blend, even with your fingers, and I didn't get any fallout whilst blending either, I'm very impressed, just wished it showed up pink on me.

Overall Impressions:
Quite liking its contents, as theres was a mixture of sincare and makeup, and products I've never used let alone heard of. Loved the fact that there was 3 products that where full sized, but not sure if that'll continue.

MICHEL MERCIER DETANGLING BRUSH LAUNCH

This post comes in two parts, (arent you the lucky bunch). Anywhoo! Michel Mercier - an internationally acclaimed Israeli hairdresser who launched his new brushes here in London. The brush is called "Untangle Your Day".

Michel Mercier designed a patented brush made up of 428 bristles positioned at different heights with a unique geometric distribution,  this helps to disperse the pressure placed on hair when brushing.  

Testing took place at the event where Michel back combed this mannequin head then use a normal brush on one side, and HIS detangling brush on the other side

From the tests it showed that the Untangle your day brush can brush out a backcombed/detangle hair in less time, and less pressure than your average brush.

Personally I think this is a great concept, as excess brushing hair with force is extremely damaging to the hair!

No one head of hair is the same , hence each one designed to suit a different hair type: fine, normal and thick, They've even created one for Afro textures too!

They say:

"It glides smoothly through wet or dry hair, curly or straight, and is even gentle enough to tackle hair extensions and real or synthetic wigs."

I was given the blue detangling brush for thick hair, and been trying it out, so wait for part two to see how it works in my 4c natural textured hair and on weave too.

REN WILD YAM FIRMING, SMOOTHING BODY CREAM

When it came to looking for reviews on this product, they were hardly any, but a ton of websites seem to be selling to, I guess I used this as an indication to try it. Before I blabber on, I am talking about the REN Wild Yam Firming, Smoothing Body Cream.

The website describes it as

A body cream formulated with phytohormones from Wild Yam to leave skin
optimally hydrated, looking firmer, smoother and healthier.

Results:

• Skin looks firmer, smoother, healthier, younger
• Improves elasticity and texture
• Deeply hydrates and replenishes

I sound like a broken record here, but many of you know I have dry skin, and constantly trying to find products that will combat that, and as this sounded like it would  do the trick, I was excited to try.

What attracted me to this product was the no parabens, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, blah de blah de blah, see picture below!

I really wanted to like this product, but I just didn't. The reason being is that I just don't think the formula was creamy enough, not in the slightest. Its definitely one of those products that "deeply hydrates" but leave the top layers dry. I don't know how this is possible because I wasn't injecting it in my skin. PROMISE!

I do have to say, it doesn't specify that is for dry skin, so perhaps I'm not using the right product, for my skin needs.

BUT....

When I put a few drops of Johnsons Baby Oil, It instantly did the job. See why I thought I was using the wrong product?

HOURGLASS FEMME ROUGE VELVET CREME LIPSTICK

As many of you know I went to the Hourglass Lash Lacquer Launch last week, and fell in love with their brand. I am now completely obsessive with their lipsticks which are called Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick.

Red lipsticks always seem the hardest thing to find, not necessarily the colour, its more to do with the finish. I hate matte lipsticks on me, I look clown like which is only best used for Halloween.

So I dont like matte, but then I'm not like over glossy red lips either, aren't I the fussy type??

Red lipsticks are particular drying, and considering I have dry lips a lot of the time, the combination isn't always a pretty site, till Hourglass Cosmetics saved my life!

My mum walks in my room between 11-1 (couldnt remember which as I was knackered) and says why you wearing lipstick to bed, its going to stain your pillow. Are you meeting someone in your dreams? O_o

CHALLENGE: LONGER LASHES PLEASE

I think I was last in queue when eyelashes were being handed out, because mine are like spiders attached to my eyelids.


In case you haven't heard about Rapid Lash its an eyelash Enhancing Serum that lengthens product that claims to thicken and improve the appearance and condition in 8 weeks. The product can also be used on the brows in order to produce thicker, stronger and fuller looking eyelashes and brows. What got me to try this product is its bodacious claims:

I'm, going to attempt to grow my lashes, and I'll be using Rapid Lash, I'll keep you up to date with how my lashes do. Hopefully I'll have long lashes in time for Christmas!

Sexy Mother Pucker pioneers Soap and Glory have unveiled to the world their new cosmetics range. Being a fan of a few of their product, I was smiling ear to ear! The new range consists of a whole lot more than lipglosses, it includes, palettes, mascara, eyeliner, foundation, the works!

I was luck enough to be invited to the launch, but forgot my memory card, so the fabulous Sabrina from http://a-littleobsessed.blogspot.com let me use her photos. 

They kindly gave me some goodies, including their hand food which I've been dying to try, but haven't got round too.
