BEAUTY NEWS: LANCOME VIRTUOSE PRECIOUS CELLS LAUNCHES TOMORROW

Whilst attending a Press Day yesterday, I noticed a space where a new counter was going to be placed. It had Lancome written all over it. It was rather odd, only because Lancome already had a counter, until the poster stating "Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells launching 1st of May" in Harvey Nichols. That is literally tomorrow. In my opinion Lancome is THE best masara known to man, as I am forever going on about Lancome's Mascara's lol.

Any who's lets get back to the details, Luxury online store Harrods has ready began selling it, so if you cant wait till tomorrow, then get it in Harrods.

They were released  exclusively on counter at Brown Thomas from March 28th,then going nationwide from tomorrow.

It comes in three colours, demystifying black, brown and blue.

We all know that the Virtuose parades the message of volumising lashes however the Hypnôse Precious Cells is enriched with a precious plant cell extract from apples.

It doesn't claim to help grow your eyelashes, but here's what it does claim:

  • The first full-volume mascara that actively cares for your lashes

  • Long-lasting formula is fortified with apple extract to leave lashes stronger, healthier and denser

  • Helicoidal brush gives professional root-to-tip coverage

  • Lashes appear longer, more luscious and visibly multiplied

  • Ophthalmologist tested

  • Fragrance free

  • Suitable for contact lens wearers

  • To support these claims of Hypnose Precious Cells, Lancome conducted a trial with 101 women over a four-week period.

    The Results

After using the mascara, women said that they’d experienced:
    • A more intense make-up result: 86%
    • Lashes appear lengthened: 90%
    • Lashes appear thickened: 79%
    • Captivating eyes: 77%

    • Protected lashes: 62%
    • Nurtured lashes:  69%

    REVIEW: NEW SCHOLL FOOT CARE

Scholl has done it again the UK’s leading footcare expert has launched a NEW Hard Skin Range that is specifically formulated to help banish the hard, stubborn skin on your feet, and slow its return.

I had the priviledge to review thier new range, so watch the video below!!

43 per cent of people suffer from hard skin and a further 10 per cent from calluses*, which can prove embarrassing (If you see people in trainers in the summer, its because they have hard skin, take my word for it lol).

The NEW range includes NEW Scholl Hard Skin Softening Cream, which is specially formulated for use on larger areas of hard skin, such as your hard-working heels and the balls of your feet. The cream contains salicylic acid to break down the hard skin cells, and lactic acids to soften and plump up the skin underneath, revealing visibly softer skin in just seven days. In addition, the hard skin will be easier to remove with a file.

For smaller, more targeted areas of hard skin – Scholl has introduced the NEW Scholl Hard Skin Softening Pen. This easy-to-use pen has a precision applicator to treat the rough skin on your toes and on the underside of your feet – the smaller areas that can be tough to tackle using more traditional treatments.

Scholl’s new Hard Skin Softening Pen, which contains salicylic and fruit acids, works to quickly and effectively break down hard keratinised skin, allowing it to shed more easily. You will see visible effects in just seven days. Scholl’s new cream and pen are designed to work in conjunction with the NEW Scholl Instant Hard Skin Remover - a revolutionary new device that will scrape away the toughest of your hard skin.

The new Scholl Instant Hard Skin Remover uses a safe gentle blade technology to safely and effectively remove your hard skin - without any damage to healthy skin.
“The Instant Hard Skin Remover has a comfortable, ergonomic design for optimum reach and ease of use.” “You only need to use minimal pressure to achieve maximum results. It truly is revolutionary.”

In a recent study, 98 per cent of people who used the Hard Skin Remover agree that they achieved instant and visible improvement using this safe new technology from Scholl.

“Scholl knows that feet are unique and deserve a range of products that are designed specifically to tackle the problems of hard skin and calluses,” says Charlotte. “Used together, the new Hard Skin Range is an easy, safe and fast-acting solution to hard stubborn skin.”

Indeed, with summer just around the corner, Scholl’s new Hard Skin Range will give you the confidence to banish the hard skin and calluses on your feet once and for all.

BEAUTY TIP: PUPPY LOVE FROM NARS

In honor of the upcoming launch of the new NARS Pro-Prime line for makeup prep (available May 1st) NARS is divulging beauty secrets from one of NARS’ most loyal campaign models. Having traveled extensively with François Nars, Founder and Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics, this beauty has learned a thing or two about putting the best possible face forward. This pup has been around for a long time as the face of NARS. When Francois Nars had to choose a model to promote his newest launch, who better than a wrinkly bull dog embodying the universal ideal that “wisdom and beauty come with age”? I really like that concept. Over the next two weeks NARS will break out images from the NARS archives and quotes from one of François’ closets companions.

    NARSISSISM #1-Marcel says:

“While products are important, any NARSissist knows it’s not always what you’re applying but how it’s applied. Preparing the skin for makeup is the most important part of any makeup application. Remove makeup nightly, use SPF when in the sun, and always moisturize.”

Stay tuned for more fun facts, campaign images and tips from Marcel to keep your makeup long-lasting. Check out NARS facebook page for additional footage from the NARS archives.

BEAUTY NEWS: LAUNCHED IN 2009, AWARD WINNER IN 2010, ALL FOR EVE

I have to say that I really admire ‘all for eve’ brand its the only brand that I know that is a stand alone beauty and lifestyle brand launched in November 2009. Working with some of the leading brands within the beauty and fashion industry, it will donate ALL net profits to The Eve Appeal, a charity that supports funding and research into women's cancers.

‘all for eve’ the much talked about philanthropic brand, launches today with its incredible capsule collection of beauty products created by some of the biggest names in the industry and who will donate all net profits to The Eve Appeal. Having swept the board at this year’s 5th Annual Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) (UK) Beauty Awards, for ‘best new brand’ award, ‘all for eve’ is by far the fast gaining a name for itself within the beauty industry.

Now how many brands do you know if that does can launch at the end of one year, and be best new brand at the begining of the following year. This takes some brand years to do this. Hats off the all for eve

‘all for eve’ is the result of a unique business concept developed and launched by George Hammer, Chairman of The Urban Retreat Group. George developed the concept following the untimely death of his sister-in-law Nadia to Ovarian Cancer in December 2008.

The collection is comprised of eight products; a luxury bath and body collection created by Urban Retreat, an ‘Eve Red’ lipstick created by Daniel Sandler, an ‘Eve Red’ nail polish created by Sophy Robson and an ‘all for eve’ Swarovski Crystal Nail File. The range has been designed to be refreshing and uplifting whilst creating a feeling of courage and poise, so celebrating women’s strength. The collection is currently available to buy through the brands website www.allforeve.co.uk.

I actually cant wait till May 1st, because ‘all for eve’ goes on sale in Harrods followed immediately by Fenwick and Fortnum & Mason, before rolling out to other UK national retailers such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Boots. ‘all for eve’ will be partnering with further established beauty and fashion brands to create a range of iconic products under the ‘all for eve’ umbrella brand and are currently working with brands including Elemis, Rock & Republic, and Roja Dove.

I dont normally do this, but this is a good quality brand that I suggest that you purchase products from the collection, as the profits are for a good cause.

FASHION: NAOMI CAMPBELL TIES THE KNOT?

The hot tempered supermodel Naomi Campbell may just be getting married. Her boyfriend, Russian millionaire Vladislav Doronin, has been talking about their plans to tie the knot, revealing fashion designer-and-magazine editor Dasha Zhukova – the partner of Chelsea soccer club owner Roman Abramovich – will be bridesmaid.

Online newspaper Life.ru quoted the 47-year-old business tycoon saying: “I can’t say it took us long to decide who will be bridesmaid. 'We are good friends with Dasha, she is a wonderful person and talented designer.'

In case you were wondering, "Dasha" is Dasha Zhukova, the girlfriend of another Russian Billionaire (Roman Abramovich) who is a designer but rumour says her real job is  holding onto her bank, I meant Babydaddy!

“We are good friends with Dasha, she is a wonderful person and talented designer. So she will be next to Naomi at our wedding.”

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the 'soon-to-be-groom' is STILL MARRIED  to Ekaterina, the mother of his teenage daughter Katia. Vladislav did not hint at a possible date for the wedding and did not give away any further details.

Naomi, 39, and Vladislav – who is nicknamed the ‘Donald Trump of Russia’ in his home country – started dating mid 2008.

Shortly after they got together, it was reported the businessman was so smitten with Naomi he bought her a $18.5 million penthouse in Brazil, aww how sweet of him.
A source said at the time: “Naomi told Vladislav how much she loved Brazil and that she really wanted to settle down there. So he bought her the apartment, and said it was a gift for her. They will use it as their base when they are in Brazil together.”

What I found interesting is that Naomi’s spokesperson has previously laughed off speculation the couple are engaged, I wonder if thats a cover up?

Her representative said in January: “Naomi is not engaged nor has any plans to wed.”

Personally I am quite suprised that it lasted this long, I thought he would like her hot tempered attitude, well this sure does say that she was too hot tempered for a man of her colour.

    So who do we believe?

I will give you a sneek peek into the range.

The details of spots, stripes, and smudges which are all hand drawn and cute were scribbled using the range’s own kohl pencils. I am a sucker for kohl pencils, I have to say Kohl pencils have taken over my make up bag, and now I can add the Top Shops too ",).

BEAUTY NEWS: COSMETICS RANGE FROM BRITISH FASHION POWERHOUSE BURBERRY

I couldnt keep it a secret anymore, British fashion powerhouse Burberry has announced that it will be launching a 96-strong line of make-up from July 2010
“It all started because I felt that, at shows and the shoots, the whole [Burberry] attitude is epitomised through the shoes, the bags, the clothes, the accessories, but then the face was the one thing I really struggled with. When we were doing make-up, I felt like we weren’t able to get the right attitude. It was either caked-on make-up or then just the wrong colours, the wrong tones, the wrong spirit for make-up. I wanted it to be this kind of effortless elegance”, Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief creative officer told WWD.com.

Never guess where the inspiration came from , the infamous classic and wearable trenchcoat, Bailey wanted the make-up range to convey the same easy persona. “Like the trenchcoat, it can be worn anywhere and at any time,” he said. Unsurprisingly, the cosmetic’s packaging also borrows from the trench with beige cartons, and inner packaging etched with the iconic check design.

    What will the line include?
The line will include sheer foundation, blush, pressed powder, bronzer, liquid foundation, eye shadow, eyeliner, lip gloss, lipstick and mascara.

What to expect from the campaign?
As for the campaign, it has a similar feel and look to the fashion house’s mainline adverts, which always include multiple faces (this season being Emma Watson, her brother Alex and One Night Only frontman George Craig). The beauty line-up features Lily Donaldson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Nina Porter all sporting Burberry trenchcoats and shot by Mario Testino.

    Where can I buy it?
The line will launch exclusively into Harrods, as well as 29 other outlets around the world.

Burberry aint going to stop there “When we feel it needs a new pop of something, we will start adding things and that will all flow with fashion, as well,” added Bailey.

Let's just hope that Bailey doesn't forget us ethnic people

ELLE will be the first magazine to bring you images and reviews of all the Burberry make-up. You'll find it in the July issue of ELLE magazine out 2 June.

    MAKE UP: SLEEK COSMETICS

Sleek Cosmetics is on trend this spring, with their new collection inspired by the Spring/Summer 2010 catwalk pastels trend.

To accompany this season colours Sleek Make Up will introduce a range of eye products The collection will include:

    • Eye Dust eye shadow in Livid Lilac is a highly pigmented loose eye shadow in a vibrant lilac shade.
    • Dip it eye liners in Pink and Pastel green (pastel green on the left, matching the turquoise light spring summer pastel colour)
    • Dip in eye liner in Mojito  a slight spin on the pastel trend
    • A green liner infused with thousands of mini glitter bits.
Personally I am not a fan of coloured eye liners, but this one might just work.

    BEAUTY CRAZE: THE BEER FACIAL

This has to be the craziest facial I have ever seen, in the beauty life cycle. I will introduce to you the beer facial, yes you  heard correctly, the beer facial.

This beer facial is supposed to be a treatment which harnesses natural ingredients to provide your skin with a boost and help skin health through anti-inflammatory cell regeneration.

Apparently beer is packed with nutrients which act as a great boost for healthy skin. It full of Vitamin B, brewers yeast which promotes skin healing by acting as a salve to dry and inflamed skin, to really what that means is that its great for the laugh lines.

    How does it work?
Take half a can of beer, some honey, avocado and a little vinegar, mix in a bowl and use as a face-mask, apply liberally and wash off after 30 minutes.

What kind of beer should I use?
Guinness, barley beer, stout and brown ale are high in nutrients purported to be good for the skin. Wheat beer also contains the necessary components and is brewed at a low temperature which preserves the enzymes in the yeast which work in the facial.

    Who likes it?
In Babylonia, thought to be the birthplace of beer, women used it to refresh their skin. In ancient Greece, Hippocrates used beer as a tonic for fever and to heal wounds.

    What does it feel like?
to be honest I haven't tried, and I think I will give this one a miss too lol but I think this would be awful. wouldn't the mixture be sticky and gooey also I don't think it would be good around the eye area.
Using lager on one side and Newcastle Brown on the other, the beer mixture was applied warm to prevent the pores from closing, which, along with the vinegar, makes gives off a horrid smell. Even after being washed off, I am sure your face and neck would still smell worse than a drunken lager lad.

The benefits - real or imagined?
Sadly, imagined. Scientific evidence on the benefits of the beer facial seem to be strictly anecdotal and of the qualities you would look for in a facial such as hydration, skin repair, line reduction or skin tautening, this method provided none of the above. After this facial I think you'll be needing more that a top up.

Sorry my face is far too precious to willingly put beer on my face in hopes of better skin. This is one facial I will not be trying, but if any does try it, be sure to let us know how you get on lol.

FAVE 'FUMES: MONSOON LAUNCHES NEW SIGNATURE FRAGRANCE - ELATION

Monsoon, (one of my favourite stores) is known for its unique bohemian style, and stunning dresses, launches their new fragrance today ‘Elation’, a vibrant yet sophisticated scent which captures the carefree personality and free spirit of Monsoon lover (indeed it does, I can vouch for that lol). This is the second launch within Monsoon’s fragrance range, and has been designed to embrace the natural elements and freshness of spring. (There’s no excuse to not smell good this spring)

Top notes combine the freshness of sparkling citrus and the smooth aromas of white tea, fused with the rich, floral scent of freesia (Monsoon has got me here, freesia is one of my favourite smells, the flowers it’s from are a beauty, and it’s from my home land Africa, What more can you ask for?).
Middle notes are beautiful floral notes which are given a contemporary twist for a youthful yet sophisticated infusion.

Base Notes are feminine and opulent the scents of faraway lands are fused in perfect of warm woods and sheer white musk. Undertones of crisp rose and apple blossom give the fragrance a fresh, timeless appeal. (Sounds yummy)

Beautifully packaged with the trademark Paisley design, it definitely shows individuality of the Monsoon consumer. (Ladies the packaging is amazing, makes me feel elegant and sophisticated just looking at it)

Elation will be available in Monsoon stores, Superdrug and Boots nationwide.

    Prices: Elation 30ml - £15.00 Elation 50ml - £19.50

Monsoon Account Card, a thing of the past

There has been lots of discussion around Monsoon discontinuing the Monsoon Accessorize Account Card. (sad times) Monsoon announced on Facebook "We did not feel that the new terms and conditions set out by Santander Cards UK were of any benefit to our customers, and therefore our partnership with them will end on 20th May. Any customers who have any questions on the closure terms of their cards should contact Santander directly. You will find this number on your statement."

(This is why I love Monsoon, the really do love us, and care for us)

Fans from Monsoon's Facebook page are not happy as Nadine 'Dio' Cooper stated on the groups page: "Nooooooo that's not good how I can go mad in the sales now lol"

Good news is on the way ladies as they are launching their new Loyalty Scheme very soon, which will be available to all customers, another Facebook fan, Ali Uppard says "much better Monsoon, all the rewards without the extortionate interest !!!"

(For more information click here http://www.monsoon.co.uk/page/reward)

So there you have more saving, no credit check malarkey, and you can save money whether good or bad credit. This means that all customers will be able to carry on earning points and getting vouchers, with the hint of springs new sophisticated fragrance, it’s a win win situation with Monsoon this spring.
